What it is
The T8 2Ft 9W G13 LED Grow Light Lamp is a specialised linear LED tube designed specifically to provide wavelengths that promote photo-biological processes in plants.
Rather than being optimised for visible brightness like a conventional white T8 tube, the lamp provides targeted output within important photosynthetic regions of the spectrum. Its output includes 2.25 µmol/s of photons in the 400–500nm region and 9.45 µmol/s in the 600–700nm region, with a total photosynthetic PPF of 13.5 µmol/s.
The lamp consumes only 9W, operates at 230V, uses a standard G13 bi-pin base, and measures 604mm long with a 25mm diameter. Rated lamp life is approximately 15,000 hours.
Because this is a dedicated grow lamp, lumens and conventional colour temperature are not the primary performance measurements. PPF and spectral output are much more useful when assessing its suitability for plant growth.

The combination of blue-region and red-region photons is particularly relevant to plant lighting. Instead of judging this lamp by how bright it appears to the human eye, its 13.5 µmol/s PPF provides a much more meaningful indication of the photosynthetically useful light it produces.
