The Philips TUV 15W SLV/25 is a specialist T8 germicidal fluorescent lamp engineered to produce UV-C radiation at 253.7nm. Unlike UV-A insect killer and Blacklight Blue lamps, this is a genuine germicidal UV-C lamp intended for professional disinfection equipment. Philips specifies a UV-C radiant output of 5.1W at 100 hours. The lamp uses a G13 medium bi-pin base, T26/T8 tubular construction and has a nominal useful life of approximately 9,000 hours. The lamp consumes 15.5W, operates at a nominal lamp voltage of 55V and nominal current of 0.335A when operated with appropriate control gear. It is not designed for direct connection to 220–240V mains. Philips describes its TUV T8 range for professional water and air disinfection units, with relatively stable UV-C output throughout the lamp’s useful life.
