What it is
The T8 15W G13 Blacklight Blue Fluorescent Lamp is a specialist UV-A fluorescent tube designed to produce ultraviolet radiation rather than conventional white illumination.
Blacklight Blue lamps use specialised fluorescent technology and dark filtering glass to emphasise long-wave UV-A radiation while reducing much of the visible light emitted by the lamp. The resulting ultraviolet output causes compatible fluorescent pigments, dyes, security markings and other UV-reactive materials to visibly fluoresce.
The lamp uses a G13 bi-pin base and standard T8 linear construction of approximately 26mm diameter. The 15W format is commonly associated with compact specialist blacklight fittings and equipment.
