The 6W T5 Blacklight Blue UV-A fluorescent lamp with a G5 bi-pin base, compact 212mm length and approximately 365nm UV-A output. Designed for blacklight effects, fluorescent displays, security marking detection, authentication, UV inspection and specialist fluorescence applications.
Â
What it is
The T5 6W G5 Blacklight Blue Fluorescent Lamp is a compact specialist UV-A tube designed to produce ultraviolet radiation rather than conventional white illumination.
Its Blacklight Blue (BLB) construction filters much of the visible light while allowing long-wave UV-A radiation to excite fluorescent pigments, dyes, security markings and other UV-reactive materials. These materials then produce the characteristic visible glow associated with blacklight applications.
The RLS5 operates in the approximately 365nm UV-A region, uses a G5 bi-pin base, and features the slim 16mm T5 tube diameter. The lamp measures approximately 212mm in length and has a rated operating life of approximately 5,000 hours.
This is a UV-A Blacklight Blue lamp, not a UV-C germicidal tube. Its primary function is fluorescence and UV inspection rather than sterilisation or conventional illumination.

Key Benefits
- Specialist Blacklight Blue UV-A technology
- Approximately 365nm UV-A output
- 6W power rating
- Compact 212mm length
- G5 bi-pin base
- Slim 16mm T5 construction
- Approximately 5,000-hour rated life
- Produces fluorescence in compatible UV-reactive materials
- Suitable for authentication and inspection
- Useful for entertainment and visual effects
- Compact specialist replacement lamp
Unlike an ordinary white fluorescent tube, lumens and colour temperature are not useful primary specifications for this lamp. Its important characteristic is its UV-A spectral output and ability to excite fluorescent materials.
Â
Safety Compliance
- Emits UV-A ultraviolet radiation
- Avoid unnecessary prolonged direct UV exposure
- Avoid staring directly at an operating lamp
- Not designed for conventional room illumination
- Not a UV-C germicidal lamp
- Do not use or market for sterilisation or disinfection
- Use only with compatible 6W fluorescent control gear
- Do not connect directly to 220–240V mains without appropriate control gear
- Isolate electrical power before installation or replacement
- Handle the glass tube carefully
- Confirm lamp wattage, base and physical dimensions before replacement
- Fluorescent lamps should be appropriately recycled/disposed of
