What it is
The T5 8W G5 Blacklight Blue Fluorescent Lamp is a specialist UV-A tube designed to produce long-wave ultraviolet radiation rather than conventional white illumination.
Its Blacklight Blue (BLB) construction suppresses much of the visible light while allowing UV-A radiation to excite fluorescent pigments, dyes, security markings and other UV-reactive materials. These materials then produce the characteristic visible fluorescence associated with blacklight applications.
The RLS6 operates in the approximately 365nm UV-A region, uses a G5 bi-pin base, and features the slim 16mm T5 tube diameter. The lamp measures approximately 288mm long and has a rated operating life of approximately 5,000 hours.
This is specifically a UV-A Blacklight Blue lamp. It should not be confused with a clear/white UV-A insect-attraction tube or a UV-C germicidal lamp.
