What it is
The T5 4W G5 Blacklight Blue Fluorescent Lamp is a compact specialist UV-A tube designed to produce ultraviolet radiation rather than conventional white illumination.
Its Blacklight Blue (BLB) construction produces long-wave UV-A radiation that causes compatible fluorescent pigments, dyes, security markings and UV-reactive materials to visibly glow under the lamp.
Radiant’s catalogue specifies a 365nm dominant wavelength, while the current product webpage lists 360nm. Because Radiant’s dedicated lamp catalogue explicitly specifies the dominant wavelength, 365nm is the better catalogue value for EMCO, while recognising that the product operates in the approximately 360–365nm UV-A region.
The RLS4 uses a G5 bi-pin base, measures 135mm long and has the standard 16mm T5 diameter. Radiant specifies an operating life of approximately 5,000 hours.
