The thermostat is a very important part of your geyser as it controls the temperature of the water and prevents the geyser from overheating. The thermostat connects to the power which provides electricity to the element which then heats up the water. The thermostat acts as a coordinator between the element. When the water in the top part of the geyser is hot enough, it lets the thermostat go into action. When the thermostat senses the water in the geyser is too cool it turns on the element. This happens only after the element of the geyser has finished heating. General temeperature setting at 65 degree +/- 5 degree. Temperature setting can be adjustable.//If the thermostat develops a fault, it might not be able to measure the temperature of the water properly and/or it might not able to turn the heating element on or off. As a result, your geyser may heat up the water beyond or lower than the set temperature. To fix the problem, you need to get the thermostat replaced.
